Flash Web Site Design
About Flash
Adobe Flash ® is an animation tool that allows sound, video, animation and images all to be integrated into a web site. The interactive experience is something that standard web site design cannot be compared with. While we wouldn’t normally advise a full Flash web site, adding in a section of Flash ( as seen above - the wind farm ) will give your site something special and unique, that adds to the personality and feel of your site.
Broadband
Broadband has changed how the web works in the United Kingdom. With the average connection speed now pushing 1meg, this allows a lot of data to be downloaded in a small period of time. Instead of waiting a few minutes for the Flash module and web page to load, it now takes a matter of seconds. This allows for more engaging, more exciting Flash to be created.
Disadvantages of Flash
There are a few disadvantages of using Flash web site design. Not everyone has the Flash player plugin. The huge majority ( over 93% in the last survey ) has this plugin facility. Without it, the small remaining percentage would be unable to view your website. The other main disadvantage is that the search engines find Flash content hard to read. Recent updates (notably Google) allow some content to be read, but it is still very hard to rank highly for competitive keyword phrases.
Hybrid Flash web sites
Flash is very versatile and can be used in small or large parts on a web site. You could have a tiny part that advertises a product or service embedded with a standard web site. You could also have, for example, certain pages of your site all Flash as well as having standard web pages.
Portfolio
Please see our portfolio for our previous Flash work. Not all of it is available online. Please contact us if you want to see other examples.
Pricing
Pricing for a Flash web site is very hard to quote as such a diverse range of work can be produced.
